Every time I come home in the evening, I find more unsolicited advertising pamphlets in our mailbox, and I keep on throwing stuff away. My sister likes those pamphlets because she’s curious and she plays with them, but I hate them, because we didn’t ask for them. Requested advertising is welcome, but unsolicited one is NOT!

I’ve been seeking for a way to Stop Junk Mail in months now. I found CatalogChoice, and I wish the service would work here in Italy too. CatalogChoice is well known to have been reducing substantially all the spam mail people get in their home mailboxes. This company checks catalogs, coupons, newsletters and other kinds of potential unsolicited mail people may receive, and will work to force these companies to opt people out of the advertising campaign when it’s unwanted. Oh, I wish we had something like that here in Italy too! >.< Spam is just plainly disgusting, online and offline.

In other news, I’ve been working on n0t.info a lot, and I’m in the process of writing a nice Biography page for myself on Honey-Babe.net. ^_^ I can’t wait to get it up! I missed working on something about myself. Been a while, hehe.

Everyone has problems. This is a fact of life. This is also probably the reason why I have been somehow able to cope with mine. I’m still standing. I think it is because I believe that challenges are there, not to make us miserable and feel hopeless, but instead, to make us stronger and better. When friends ask how I can stay cheerful after all the disappointments I have encountered, there are a few things I share with them that you may find useful in your life too.

Stay positive. You may have heard this over and over again, and you might think it is so over-used, but believe me, it works. I know it may seem easier said than done, but just like being happy, it is a decision. When you decide to be positive, you decide to bring in the good and let go of the bad. Take a good look around you and see all of the little miracles that happen in your life each day. Remember that if there is a downside, there will always be an upside. Focus on that instead.

Stop worrying too much. I have noticed that a lot of things I have stressed myself over too much were really nothing to worry about after all. I used to anticipate problems before they even happened. When they didn’t, my relief was nothing compared to how tired I was from worrying too much. It is normal to feel this every once in a while but overdoing it causes so much unnecessary anxiety. I have even heard of people actually getting physically sick from it. Keep in mind that every problem comes with a solution. If you can’t solve it, let it go. Tomorrow will still come around and things could be so much different.

Learn how to be kind to yourself. I used to feel so guilty about the way things have turned out in my life, putting all the blame on myself. I realized soon enough that I couldn’t move forward if I kept on dwelling on my past mistakes. Besides, the circumstances then had so much to do with the decisions I made. We all make mistakes. But in the end, what matters is how we learn from them so we can make better decisions in the future. What has been done is done. Give yourself a break.

Love yourself more. A good friend once told me that for me to get on with my life, I needed to look at myself in the mirror and say, “I love you.” I think this is very important. There is just no way you can be capable of loving anyone else unless you love yourself first. Do not be selfish when it comes to things that make you happy. I remember giving and giving so much of myself till I found there was nothing left for me. It was probably at that point that I hit rock bottom. Now, I always leave a little bit for myself. I think I deserve it, and so do you.

These are just a few lessons I have learned that have kept me smiling through the tough times. I have also discovered a lot of things I can actually do on my own that I can be proud of. But the best thing I have found in my life is peace in my heart, something I relate to happiness. I hope you find this peace too, and discover that life is beautiful after all.

One more thing is to really do the things you love, and one of the things I love and write about is people search free, or in other words, finding long-lost friends for free online.

What is a mother? Who shall answer this? A mother is a font and spring of life, A mother is a forest in whose heart Lies hid a secret ancient as the hills, For men to claim and take its wealth away; And like the forest shall her wealth renew And give, and give again, that men may live.
